St Breward Silver Band was formed in 1899 and except for the war years, has been providing entertainment right up to the present day. We are based in the village of St Breward, which is situated midway between Bodmin and Camelford, on the western edge of Bodmin Moor. Our main type of work comes from public concerts, carnivals, with weddings, barbeques and local shows all gaining in popularity.
Band members of all ages, who give all their time, rehearse twice a week but extra rehearsals would be required for competitions/contests. All members live within a 10 mile radius of our Bandroom.
In a typical year we complete around 35 engagements and attend 3 or 4 contests. Our main summer concert venue since 1967, has been Port Isaac on the North Cornish Coast where during those 14/15 weeks we perform to many hundreds of holiday makers in the open air each time and part way through the concert we perform The Floral Dance, a Cornish tradition where we expect everyone to join in. Newquay and Padstow are also attended as a concert venue.
Should any organisation wish to book the band, this too can be done using our website and for points of contact.
