SURVIVAL PLAN -- OCTOBER 2011
After our meeting held on 10th October, the remaining band members have arrived at a decision and that is TO CONTINUE for the time being at least, but on a much smaller scale.
To begin with, rehearsals will be held
once every two weeks, beginning on Monday 17th October 2011 at 7.30pm in the Bandroom as a 10 piece ensemble with the intention to perform around our local area during the Christmas period.
Now that we have a more positive future to look forward to, more bandsmen and women may now wish to join our group and have more enjoyment but without the pressure that goes with a full 25 member silver band with all that entails.
Therefore for the immediate future, St Breward Silver Band will NOT be available for any bookings until further notice.
So far, we have received four enquiries about joining our group and we all look forward to the future and to continue with the survival plan.
If there are any bandsmen and women out there who would like to have one extra rehearsal night, please do come along as you will be made most welcome. We have instruments available for those who do not have access to one.
For any more information, please get in contact using our website – stbrewardband.co.uk or by calling our secretary on 01208 264931.

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT AND INVITATION
ST BREWARD SILVER BAND, ( National Champions of Great Britain 2009 ) are in desperate need of players in most departments. If this announcement and invitation does not generate any positive results in the bands continued survival, the band
will quite possibly be closing its doors, at least for the immediate future unless we can redress this situation. A meeting has been called to address this matter on Monday 10th October 2011 at 7.30pm
This will be held in The Bandroom at St Breward where
the remaining 9 band members and some members of the trustees will be available to discuss where we go from here.
The band, formed in 1899 has been in continuous
existence
up to this present day. There have been many highlights over the years, one being performing at the National Finals, held in The Royal Albert Hall, London in our centenary year, another attending the National Finals again in 2007 at Harrogate and then again in 2009 becoming National Champions
of Great Britain as well as all the concerts we perform around Cornwall.
We, as a band are regarded with
high esteem throughout the West Country and through our web site, often receive
compliments from far and wide as well as
our loyal supporters, some of which are now third generation.
